WHAT YOU NEED
- Syphon Vacuum Pot
- Heat Lamp or Alcohol Burner
- Wooden Paddle or Spoon
- 25 grams of coffee (medium-fine grind)
- Boiling Water
Soak the filter in hot water for 5 minutes.
Place the filter inside the hopper with the chain and hook end first with the cloth filter facing up. Make sure to hook the filter on the bottom rim of the glass tube. Set the assembled hopper aside (The lid also acts as a stand for the hopper).
Pour 300 grams of boiling water into the glass bulb. Using hot water quickens the process rather than having to heat up room temperature water.
Place the assembled hopper in the glass bulb securing it in place without pressing too hard. Place the syphon setup on heat source. Turn on your heat source and wait for boil. Once water comes to a boil, it will slowly rise up to the hopper. A little bit of water will remain in the bottom glass globe, and that’s ok.
You will need to get your timer ready. Pour your coffee grounds in the hot water that collected in the hopper, and stir with a paddle or a spoon gently swirling the coffee around. Immediately start the timer after adding the coffee grounds.
After 30 seconds, stir one more time.
After 1.5 minutes, turn off the heat source and gently stir the coffee for the last time.
The coffee will start to drip down to the glass globe once it lowers to a certain temperature. Wait until you see bubbling at the end which means you are done. Gently remove the hopper from the glass globe.
Enjoy your coffee!
